Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. It is believed that she was the one responsible as the pioneer of modern studies of memory recall by eyewitnesses, and also children's witnesses. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive She has also received a number of grants, and has been the winner of many honors international and national levels. She has advised many government agencies and governments around all over the world on policy and studies pertaining to the treatment of child victims of the law by the system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member, International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
