Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known as Ashanti was born October 13 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a singer from the United States. and songwriter. Ashanti's talent was first discovered in her teens. She was signed to Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. The same year she also was featured in Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always On Time track. Both of them turned into huge smashes. She became the first female artist to hold first and second spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at the top spot and the track What's Luv? at number two.
