Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was the American and British sitar artist. She was the first and first female to win the British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian of Indian descent to perform live on stage and also serve as a presenter at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar artist. She's the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled between London in London and New Delhi. At the age of 13 she performed her first show on stage in New Delhi. She then moved to Encinitas CA, where she obtained her High School diploma with honors in 1999. While she's still young, Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording record. For a long time she performs regularly alongside her father. Her debut solo album Anourag in the year 1998. The album was titled Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year later. She has performed at most famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka's career goes beyond music. Bapi The love of My Live is her 2002 novel, and is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In addition, she acted in a film in 2003. She played an Bharat Nayam dancer on Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity is expected to continue growing. Anoushka was raised in England however, she spent the majority of her youth split between London in the UK and Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and enrolled in high school there. At the age of 9 she began her studies in music with her father. Her debut performance on the sitar came in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi in the year following. Anoushka's father toured around the world with her and she also gained a variety of experiences. When she was still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. The youngest female to receive the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament in recognition of her musicianship and artistry in the Asian Arts.
